Flooded with natural light, The Botanical Room at Finsbury Square is the ideal space for daytime as well as evening events. Seating up to 24 on a single table or larger parties of up to 40 on smaller tables the walls are hung with a collection of specially commissioned artworks based on the Flora Danica & feature a series of plants which share a commonality between Anna's native New Zealand & her adopted home of the UK.
The room is a whitewashed, high-ceilinged space with understated ornamentation, designed by New York practice AvroKo; clean lines & simple forms are partitioned by stunning movable panels instead of walls. The materials & furniture reference the Danish Modern movement & thus Anna’s roots, by using woods such as oak, teak and walnut, caning, bent plywood & hand blown glass.
Head Chef Rob Mcleary has worked with Anna since 2008 & was won over by Anna’s ‘modern pantry’ philosophy & her unique & celebrated cooking style. In keeping with The Modern Pantry’s mantra, the menus are a sanctuary of bold flavours, colourful ingredients, herbs & spices from around the world which change with the seasons & are expertly brought together to create fresh, original & captivating dishes; the result of a collaborative effort from both Rob and Anna.
