Wairau River Wine Dinner Menu Chrissy Wallace 'Geography of a Dream’ January 9th – March 5th 2012 We are proud to present the work of Scottish artist Chrissy Wallace. ‘Geography of a Dream’ is an exploration and distillation of journeys, patterns and personal totems. This series of work seeks to express the concept of walking one's own physical and metaphorical paths in life through a visual exploration of the artist’s internal landscape. Two Star Sustainability Champion Award from the Sustainable Restaurant Association We all try to do our bit to help the environment. At The Modern Pantry we’ve been going that extra mile for the last 18 months resulting in a Two Star Sustainability Champion Award from The Sustainable Restaurant Association. Working with the lovely people at the SRA we have examined our waste practices and taken a long hard look at the sources of our produce. In doing so we can now ensure that only the highest quality seasonal produce appears on our menu. We were also recognised for our social work, be that supporting the excellent Streetsmart scheme, running for Action Against Hunger or donating restaurant vouchers to local charities. In a bid to lessen our impact on the environment we filter and bottle our water in-house and take hand delivery of our tea and coffee from local suppliers; Newby Tea and Caravan Coffee. The Modern Pantry & Action Against Hunger On Saturday December 3rd we popped up at Taste of Christmas in support of Action Against Hunger. Raising a marvellous sum of £3,408 on the day. With Francesco Mazzei appearing on the Friday and Aldo Zilli cooking on the Sunday, a prize draw and some generous donations, over £12,000 was raised for one of our favourite charities.
